@mattmichalowskiI I just graduated college and moved out to LA to pursue a career performing music. Any tips for someone starting from scratch in a new city? – Matt, congrats on your recent move to Los Angeles and commitment to being a performing musician. I’m not sure what your ultimate goal is as an artist but my initial advice would be to find a few focus points and put all your energy into that. If one is hoping to have success as a live performer I would recommend a.) building a strong network of fellow musicians and event promoters that can help guide and inspire you to make smart decisions b.) focus on being a confident performer that can give a strong live show and can stand out from the other emerging artists c.) place yourself in the mindset that you are a business and that your career should pan out like a small company looking to grow over time d.) utilize social-networks like Twitter, Eventful and Facebook to create awareness surrounding your new LA shows and recorded material.
